Vaultyx

Encrypted cloud storage
we cannot read

AES-256-GCM encryption on your device. Encryption keys live in your iOS Keychain — never on our servers. Files replicated across 3 datacenters in 2 jurisdictions. We receive ciphertext, store ciphertext, and have no way to decrypt it. From $1.99 / month.

Zero-knowledge by architecture, not policy

01 · Encrypt
AES-256-GCM on device
Files encrypted on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac before upload. Each file gets a unique key. Each folder gets a unique key. Keys live in your iOS Keychain.
02 · Chunk
FastCDC delta sync
Content-defined chunking (16 KB to 256 KB blocks). Edit one byte of a 1 GB file, only the affected chunk re-uploads.
03 · Replicate
3 datacenters, 2 jurisdictions
Encrypted blobs replicated across us-central, us-east (Virginia), and ca-east (Beauharnois). Replication factor 2: every block exists in at least 2 zones. A regional outage doesn't lose your files.
04 · Sync
Cross-device via Keychain
iCloud Keychain syncs your vault keys to your other Apple devices. Open the same vault on iPhone, iPad, and Mac without re-uploading anything.
05 · Export
Standard S3 API
Connect rclone, AWS CLI, Cyberduck, or any S3-compatible client to vaultyx.objstore.io with your access key. Full bucket access. No proprietary lock-in.
06 · Honest
No content scanning
No scanning. No ads. No phone-home analytics. No third-party tracking SDKs. No AI training on your files. It's not policy — we literally don't have the keys to read anything.

What "zero-knowledge" actually means

Most "encrypted" cloud services encrypt your files at rest on their servers — but they hold the keys. They can decrypt your files. They scan content for safety. They hand over plaintext when subpoenaed.

Vaultyx is different by architecture: the encryption runs on your device, before upload. Your iOS Keychain holds the only copy of the keys. The Katafract servers only ever see ciphertext.

How Vaultyx really compares

Real prices pulled from competitor sites today. Vaultyx priced at the 1 TB tier ($9.99/mo) and 5 TB tier ($7.99/TB/mo) for direct $/TB comparison.

Prices in USD as of April 2026. *iCloud Advanced Data Protection (opt-in) provides end-to-end encryption for some categories; default iCloud is at-rest only. Sync.com pricing assumes annual billing. Storj effective $/TB depends on egress volume — at 1× monthly egress, $4 storage + $7 egress = $11/TB. Use it as raw S3 storage too

Every Vaultyx subscription includes standard S3 API access. Connect rclone, AWS CLI, Cyberduck, Veeam — anything that speaks S3 — to your bucket. The same encrypted blobs your iPhone uploads are accessible via this API; you control encryption client-side, we provide the storage.

# rclone config [vaultyx] type = s3 provider = Other endpoint = https://vaultyx.objstore.io region = us-east-1 access_key_id = KAT... secret_access_key = ... # Then list / upload / download as usual: rclone ls vaultyx:vault-<your-id> rclone copy ./photos vaultyx:vault-<your-id>/photos
Endpoint: https://vaultyx.objstore.io · Region: us-east-1 · Buckets: virtual-host or path style. Per-user access keys generated in the Vaultyx app. Same Garage cluster underneath as the encrypted-blob storage your iOS app uses.
