A warrant canary is a transparency mechanism. We publish this statement every month to confirm that we have not received any secret or compelled government orders. Each statement is PGP-signed with our canary key and committed to our public GitHub repository, so its timestamp is independently verifiable. If this page stops updating, or the statements below are removed, that itself is meaningful information.
As of July 2026, Katafract LLC has received zero government requests, subpoenas, national security letters, or gag orders affecting user data. No user data has been compromised or disclosed. This statement is updated monthly.

A warrant canary exploits the legal distinction between compelled speech and silence. We cannot be forced to lie and say we have not received a secret order. But we can choose to stop updating this page — a dead canary signals what we cannot say directly.
This canary is republished on the 1st of each month. Every statement embeds a recent Bitcoin block hash as a freshness proof — evidence the statement could not have been signed in advance. If a monthly update does not appear within 30 days of its due date, or if any of the statements above are removed, treat the canary as dead.
Because our apps process data locally on your device and our Enclave network services are designed around minimal logging, the practical impact of any compelled disclosure is limited by architecture — not just by policy. We cannot produce records we do not hold.
