ExifArmor — Support
ExifArmor Support
Getting Started
EXIF (Exchangeable image file format) is hidden data embedded in every photo by your camera or phone. It can include your precise GPS location, the make and model of your device, timestamps, camera settings like aperture and ISO, and more. When you share a photo, this data travels with it — visible to anyone who knows how to look.
Open ExifArmor and tap the photo picker on the Home tab. Select one or more photos, then tap “Preview Exposure” to see what metadata is embedded. Tap “Strip & Save” to remove it all. Your cleaned photo is saved back to your photo library.
No. ExifArmor creates a new cleaned copy of your photo and saves it to your library. Your original photo is never modified or deleted. You can delete the original yourself if you choose.
By default, ExifArmor removes all EXIF metadata including GPS coordinates, camera make and model, timestamps, lens info, exposure settings, device serial numbers, and any software tags. With ExifArmor Pro you can customize exactly which fields to keep or remove.
ExifArmor Pro
Pro unlocks: unlimited photo strips (free tier is 5/day), batch processing for multiple photos at once, the iOS share extension to strip directly from other apps, and custom strip options to choose exactly which metadata fields to remove.
No. ExifArmor Pro is a one-time upgrade for $3.99. Pay once and own it forever — no recurring charges, no subscription.
Open ExifArmor, tap the Settings tab, and tap “Restore Purchases.” As long as you’re signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, Pro will be restored at no charge.
Privacy & Data
Never. All processing happens entirely on your device. Your photos and their metadata never leave your iPhone through ExifArmor. There are no servers involved in the stripping process.
ExifArmor needs read access to let you select photos, and write access to save the cleaned copies back to your library. It only accesses photos you explicitly select — it never scans or reads your full library in the background.
No. ExifArmor collects zero data. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no network calls of any kind. See the full ExifArmor Privacy Policy for details.
Troubleshooting
The free tier allows 5 strips per day. The limit resets at midnight local time. To remove the limit entirely, upgrade to ExifArmor Pro from the Settings tab — it’s a one-time $3.99 purchase.
ExifArmor Pro is required for the share extension. If you have Pro and the extension still doesn’t appear: open the share sheet in Photos, scroll to the bottom of the app row, tap “More,” and enable ExifArmor in the list. You may also need to tap “Edit” to make it appear in your quick actions.
ExifArmor only removes metadata — it does not alter the pixel data of your photos. If you notice a visual difference, it is likely due to color profile information that may be embedded as metadata. The image content itself is preserved exactly.
