ExifArmor Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ExifArmor ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Katafract LLC ("Katafract", "we", "us").

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at https://katafract.com/terms/exifarmor with a revised date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Katafract grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use ExifArmor on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

The free tier of the App is licensed for use at no charge. ExifArmor Pro is licensed upon completion of the in-app purchase described in Section 5.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its underlying software;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third-party rights;
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the App;
• Use the App to process materials you do not have the right to process.

5. In-App Purchases

ExifArmor Pro is available as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase of $3.99 USD (or equivalent local currency), processed by Apple through the App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase confirmation.
• ExifArmor Pro is a permanent license tied to your Apple ID. You may restore it at any time on any device signed in to the same Apple ID using the "Restore Purchases" option in the App.
• Katafract does not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. All payment processing is handled solely by Apple.
• Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. Katafract has no ability to issue or deny refunds.

6. Photo Library Access

ExifArmor requests access to your photo library to read metadata from photos you select and to save cleaned copies back to your library. This access is used solely to perform the metadata-stripping function you initiate. We do not access, scan, or transmit any photos beyond what is needed to perform the specific operation you request.

7. Share Extension

The ExifArmor Share Extension allows you to strip metadata from images shared from other apps. Processing occurs entirely on your device. The cleaned image is returned to the originating app or share destination. No data is transmitted to Katafract or any third party.

8. No Guarantee of Complete Metadata Removal

ExifArmor is designed to strip standard EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and GPS metadata from images. However, we cannot guarantee that every metadata field embedded by every camera manufacturer, app, or editing tool will be removed in all cases. Some proprietary or non-standard metadata formats may not be fully addressed. You should verify the output for sensitive use cases.

ExifArmor is not responsible for any metadata that is re-embedded by downstream apps, platforms, or services after a cleaned image is shared or uploaded.

9. Intellectual Property

ExifArmor, the Katafract name, and all associated logos, designs, and software are owned by Katafract LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KATAFRACT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ALL METADATA WILL BE REMOVED IN EVERY CASE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KATAFRACT LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DAMAGE TO REPUTATION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF EXIFARMOR, EVEN IF KATAFRACT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN ALL CASES, KATAFRACT'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR EXIFARMOR PRO.

12. Third-Party Services

ExifArmor is distributed through the Apple App Store and uses Apple's StoreKit framework for purchase processing. Your use of Apple's services is governed by Apple's Terms of Service. Katafract is not responsible for Apple's services, policies, or availability.

13. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach any provision of these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies from your devices. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9, 10, 11, and 14) will survive.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Katafract LLC's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that location.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the ExifArmor Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Katafract with respect to ExifArmor and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
