SafeOpen — Terms of Service

SafeOpen Terms of Service

Effective: April 2026 — About SafeOpen →

Agreement

By downloading or using SafeOpen (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. SafeOpen is published by Katafract LLC (“Katafract,” “we,” “us”).

What SafeOpen Is

SafeOpen is a QR code and link inspection tool. It decodes QR codes, classifies payloads, and scores link risk using local, on-device algorithms. It is a utility to inform your decision before opening a link — not a security guarantee, not a VPN, and not a browser.

No Warranty on Risk Scores

SafeOpen’s risk scores are produced by deterministic local heuristics. They are informational only and do not constitute a guarantee of safety. A link scored “Likely Safe” may still be harmful; a link scored “High Risk” may be entirely benign. You are responsible for your own judgment about whether to open any link. Katafract accepts no liability for harm resulting from links you choose to open or not open based on SafeOpen’s output.

Permitted Use

SafeOpen is licensed for personal use. You may use the app on any device you own or control. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or distribute the app outside of Apple’s standard mechanisms.

Pricing

SafeOpen is free to download. Any future in-app purchases will be clearly disclosed before purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple’s standard refund policies, available at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy

SafeOpen collects no data. See the SafeOpen Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced at katafract.com. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Katafract LLC is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
